Predictive Analytics in Power BI

Predictive analytics is one of the coolest feature of any data analytics system.  In Power BI, it can easily be added to any time series line graph as shown above.

The example shown above is based on complaints filed with Do Not Call Registry from 2004 to 2016.  The prediction is shown with 95% confidence interval for the next 4 years - 2020.

Typically, you will have more accurate prediction as you have more data points for longer period of time. 

Here is another example of showing the forecast of the U.S. Hispanics population to year 2030.  Based on this model, we will have close to 80 million people in the U.S. who identify as Hispanic.
